These are our poems about poverty. We used all five of our senses to describe what poverty feels, smells, sounds, looks and tastes like.

In the lonely, spooky, streets doing nothing.
Poverty feels like a cold, wrinkly, weak, dusty,
Sad lion in the rusty jungle.
Poverty looks like splashing, lonely, dull waves on the ocean where it is cold.
Poverty smells like old, smelly gas spreading in a park as you are walking along.
Poverty tastes like dry, sticky, gooey boogies in your dirty nose.

Poverty sounds like a gigantic dinosaur, limping and crying tears over the sand.
Poverty feels like a dead leaf with rotten holes all over it, the poor leaf all rusty, slimy, dried out, and passed the date leaf.
Poverty looks like a nearly dead person without any blood or meat, all sucked up by a vampire.
Poverty smells like a dirty, smelly breath, the body smells of dirty socks that hasn’t been washed.
Poverty tastes like coconut hair with some shrivelled up, cut up dry skin.
